Over the past few years, TATINO has built a growing network of collaborations with German film funds, festivals, film schools and industry partners. From script development to the final steps before a film reaches its audience, these partnerships connect local talent with international expertise, individual mentoring and professional

networks, helping filmmakers move their projects forward.

This week, one of the films from these collaborations has its world premiere: The Healing by Lillian Rosa and Marcus Richardt, at the 60th HOF INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. The documentary took part in First Cut Lab in cooperation with MOIN. It is a good occasion to look at TATINO’s six current collaborations with German partners.

How can the experiences of eastern Germany find stronger representation in film and series development? This question lies at the heart of “Idea to Pitch: East German Perspectives in Film and Series”, a programme created by PROG, the Producers of Germany association, with Netflix. TATINO is its training partner and is helping to design the development process for the selected creative teams, combining individual guidance with an understanding of how to present stories to the industry.

In October, participants came together for an onsite workshop in Teupitz to work on their projects.

Through its cooperation with MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, TATINO’s First Cut Lab supported filmmakers in the decisive editing phase, bringing experienced international consultants into the conversation to help creative teams refine their cut and strengthen their artistic vision. One of the films supported through this cooperation, The Healing, premieres today, 21 October, at the 60th HOF INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.

First Cut+ Munich

Created by TATINO in 2020, First Cut+ aims at answering the questions emerging when approaching completion. How should the film be positioned? Which festivals are the right fit? How can its audience be reached, and its international potential maximised?

The program answers these questions with expert guidance on festival strategy, marketing, publicity, audience engagement and distribution. In 2026, it launched a Munich edition in partnership with the Munich International Film Festival (FILMFEST MÜNCHEN).

Six feature films in post-production were selected, drawn from TATINO’s other programs. Their teams work through one-on-one consultations with industry experts on their positioning and marketing strategy: who the film is for, how to position it, and how to adapt its communication to local and international audiences. The work culminates in a works-in-progress showcase during FILMFEST MÜNCHEN in front of sales agents, distributors and festival programmers.

More about the next edition to be announced soon.

Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine Hessen

For the third consecutive year, TATINO collaborates with Hessen Film & Medien, and with Alca in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, on Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine Hessen, an international programme supporting feature films in development and editing.

The partnership connects filmmakers and producers working in the German region of Hessen and in France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine, combining residential workshops, individual consultations and opportunities to meet the wider European film industry. The latest workshop took place in Frankfurt in September. The two Hessen projects, Neofrau and What Is To Be Done, will pitch in Poitiers on 4 December 2026, during the POITIERS FILM FESTIVAL's industry program.

By connecting regional support structures with international development expertise and pitching opportunities, Full Circle Lab helps filmmakers strengthen both their projects and their potential for international collaboration.

Incubator Germany

From 5 to 9 October 2026, TATINO and Netflix brought selected creative teams together in Berlin for an intensive incubator programme dedicated to the development of German film and series projects with a focus on German crime and thriller stories. The week offered focused project development and expert guidance, a space to explore creative possibilities, strengthen concepts and consider the next steps towards the screen.

The incubator reflects TATINO’s commitment to supporting German creative talent through development opportunities and close collaboration with industry partners, helping promising stories move forward in an increasingly competitive film and series landscape.

Munich Film Up!

Munich Film Up! is about to launch its sixth edition, and the new participants will be announced soon! Each year, the programme accompanies six emerging filmmakers after film school as they develop their first feature projects, combining mentoring, workshops and a Pop Up Film Residency.

The programme is presented by HFF München (the University of Television and Film Munich), with TATINO’s Pop Up Film Residency as exclusive content partner and with the financial support of the Kirch Foundation.
